In order to fit the 351w with EFI under the hood a 1968 style Shelby hood will be used. The hood was purchased from Tony D. Branda Shelby and Mustang for $485 US. This hood is made for a regular Mustang and not a Shelby Mustang. A true Shelby Mustang has a complete new grill opening, front valance, and headlight buckets.

As can be seen in the pictures the openings in the hood are filled in, including the louvers. A sales guy at Tony D. claimed this was to retain structural strength during shipment. Estimating somewhere between 20 to 40 hours of prep time to get the hood into acceptable condition. The hood itself is well made and free from waves. If it wasn't for the opening of the holes it would have needed very little prep to paint.

The fenders are by Maier Racing but purchased through Mustangs Plus, about $580 for the set. They have a 3.25" flare and are made with fibreglass.
